A new UK- and Ireland-licensed Netflix series called The House of Streams is set to feature popular Twitch personalities battling it out in a high-stakes competition for a 1 Bitcoin grand prize.
The show, debuting on June 18, will showcase eight streamers with a combined following of around four million. Contestants will face a range of challenges, with the winner walking away with one BTC — valued at over $104,000 at the time of writing.
Series creator Mark Holland reportedly explained that a typical cash reward or luxury vacation wouldn’t cut it for this concept — the prize had to stand out. However, the show’s website has already warned fans about scammers trying to capitalize on the hype with fake crypto tokens.
“We only endorse Bitcoin — no memecoins,” the producers clarified in a statement issued on May 22.
Netflix has previously explored the world of crypto with titles like Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King, covering the collapse of QuadrigaCX. In May, the platform also greenlit The Altruists, a dramatized series about the lives of FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried and Alameda’s Caroline Ellison.
Crypto Wealth and Rising Threats
The streamer lineup includes names like The Black Hokage, CyborgAngel, and OutplayedByJade, though none have publicly commented on the series as of June 6.
Meanwhile, security concerns for online personalities with crypto holdings continue to rise. In March, Kaitlyn Siragusa — better known as Amouranth — reported a terrifying incident in which intruders broke into her home demanding access to her cryptocurrency. She had previously shared a screenshot revealing a BTC balance worth around $20 million.
Siragusa’s experience is part of a troubling trend. In France, attackers recently attempted to kidnap the daughter and grandson of Paymium CEO Pierre Noizat — further highlighting the risks tied to public crypto exposure in 2025.
