Demand for spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) picked up sharply this week, with more than $1.7 billion flowing in before markets closed on Friday.
According to SoSoValue, Wednesday alone saw close to $800 million in net inflows, making it one of the strongest single days in weeks. By Thursday, total inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs had already surpassed $1.7 billion — the biggest weekly tally in nearly two months and a signal that investor confidence is strengthening again.
The surge in demand came as Bitcoin (BTC) rebounded above $115,000, gaining around 4.5% compared to last Friday’s level of $110,000.
Ether ETFs bounce back after major outflows
Ethereum-based spot ETFs also turned the tide this week, recording over $230 million in inflows by Thursday. This marks a solid comeback after suffering nearly $800 million in outflows the week prior.
Institutional interest remains strong as well. BitMine, a corporate treasury with a focus on Ethereum, expanded its holdings with two large purchases. On Monday, the firm acquired 202,500 ETH, pushing its reserves past the 2 million ETH mark. Two days later, BitMine bought another $200 million worth of Ether from Bitgo.
Figures from the Strategic ETH Reserve platform show BitMine’s stash now exceeds 2 million ETH, worth about $9.3 billion. Across all companies tracked, reserve holders control close to 5 million ETH (valued at $22.1 billion), while ETF issuers back their products with another 6.6 million ETH, equal to nearly $30 billion. Combined, institutions now hold close to 12 million ETH — roughly 10% of the circulating supply.
Crypto market cap vs. Nvidia
The broader digital asset market also broke above $4.1 trillion again this week, revisiting levels last seen in July and August.
Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao pointed out the milestone on X, drawing a comparison with chipmaker Nvidia’s valuation, which currently sits at around $4.3 trillion, according to 8marketcap.
“The market cap of all future money is still smaller than one chip company. You do the math,” Zhao commented.
