Bitcoin Poised to Surge as next generation of investors mature

Financial expert and best-selling author Suze Orman, also known for hosting the “Women & Money” podcast, recently highlighted the importance of Bitcoin in a conversation with CNBC, where she once worked and hosted her popular show from 2002 to 2016. Orman diverged from many of her peers by advocating for investment in Bitcoin, suggesting it will become increasingly attractive to younger investors as they advance in their careers.

In her discussion, Orman noted:

“As younger people make more money and mature, [Bitcoin] will be one of their investments of choice, and that will cause it to go up.”

Orman, who personally holds Bitcoin through exchange-traded funds (ETFs), expressed a semi-bullish view on the cryptocurrency. Although she doubts Bitcoin will become a conventional currency or a reliable store of value, she recognizes its growing appeal among younger generations, which she believes could lead to significant popularity.

She prefers the safety of ETFs to direct ownership, citing concerns about security incidents like the FTX collapse and the complexities of managing digital wallets. Orman candidly shared her apprehension about losing access to a wallet due to a forgotten passcode.

Orman concluded her interview by reinforcing the value of having Bitcoin in one’s investment portfolio, though she cautioned investors to be prepared for potential losses and to invest only what they can afford to lose.
