Bitcoin’s long-term investors are ramping up their accumulation efforts, adding around 800,000 BTC each month — a historic surge.
According to new data from the on-chain analytics firm CryptoQuant, the “hodl” trend among seasoned Bitcoin holders has reached levels rarely seen before.
Veteran Holders Show Strong Conviction
Long-term Bitcoin holders — defined as wallets that have held BTC for over six months without moving it — are showing remarkable confidence despite BTC hitting fresh all-time highs in 2025.
CryptoQuant’s latest findings reveal that, on a rolling 30-day basis, the net increase in long-term held BTC has reached 800,000 — a new all-time high.
“This is a significant signal from long-term holders that deserves close attention,” wrote analyst Darkfost in a Thursday edition of CryptoQuant’s Quicktake blog.
Historically, a 30-day increase of this scale has only occurred six times, with the previous instances in July 2021 and September 2024 both preceding sharp price upswings.
“It’s a meaningful signal that should be considered when forming market strategies,” Darkfost noted.
The report also highlighted that many of the coins now entering the long-term holder category were acquired between $95,000 and $107,000, suggesting this zone could act as a solid price floor.
Short-Term Holders Hover Around $100K
While long-term investors accumulate, short-term holders — those holding BTC for less than six months — continue to influence price behavior, especially during corrections.
At present, their average acquisition price sits just under $100,000. This level often acts as a temporary floor during pullbacks, and the recent dip to $98,000 has followed that pattern.
Glassnode, another prominent on-chain analytics firm, emphasized the importance of the $98,000–$93,000 range in its latest “Week Onchain” report.
“As long as Bitcoin stays above this range, the broader bullish trend remains intact,” the firm noted. “However, if prices fall below and short-term holders start capitulating, we could see increased selling pressure and a deeper correction.”
