Artificial intelligence may fundamentally reshape investing, making Bitcoin a more attractive long-term bet than traditional equities, according to market veteran Jordi Visser.
Visser argued that AI drastically accelerates the pace of innovation, leaving public companies struggling to adapt. “When the innovation cycle shrinks from years to weeks, businesses can’t reach sustainable growth. In that kind of environment, you’re not really investing—you’re just trading,” he explained during a conversation with Anthony Pompliano.
He went on to compare Bitcoin with both companies and commodities:
“Bitcoin is built on belief. Beliefs endure much longer than ideas. You won’t find any firms from 100 BC still around, but gold is—and Bitcoin will be too. People may debate it, but it’s not going anywhere. The key is being long on beliefs rather than short-term ideas.”
Visser also noted that AI could compress what historically took a century into just a few years, dramatically reshaping finance and capital markets. This convergence of AI and blockchain, he suggested, will continue drawing more people and value into the digital economy.
Bitcoin Adoption Accelerates
The shift is already visible in corporate behavior. Increasingly, companies are buying Bitcoin directly for their balance sheets, in some cases even rebranding themselves as crypto-first treasury firms while moving away from their traditional businesses. This trend provides equity markets with indirect Bitcoin exposure, while simultaneously channeling capital away from legacy systems toward digital assets.
Eric Trump recently reinforced this perspective, projecting that Bitcoin could reach $1 million per coin in the near future. Speaking at the Bitcoin Asia 2025 conference in Hong Kong, he highlighted the growing participation of nation-states, wealthy families, and listed corporations in accumulating BTC.
Competing With Gold
Bitcoin’s current market cap sits above $2.1 trillion, and some analysts believe it’s only a matter of time before it surpasses gold. Unlike the precious metal, Bitcoin offers borderless transferability and yield opportunities through decentralized finance (DeFi). Many industry leaders argue these features give it a long-term edge as a store of value.
