Strategy, led by Michael Saylor, expanded its Bitcoin reserves once again last week as Bitcoin’s price soared beyond $90,000.
In an update on April 28, Strategy confirmed that it had purchased 15,355 BTC between April 21 and April 27.
The firm spent a total of $1.42 billion, paying an average price of $92,737 per Bitcoin. This move boosted Strategy’s overall BTC holdings by approximately 3%, bringing the total to 535,555 Bitcoin, valued at over $50 billion.
This acquisition marks Strategy’s largest Bitcoin purchase since late March, when the company bought 22,048 BTC for $1.92 billion at an average cost of $86,969 per Bitcoin.
Strategy Achieves 13.7% BTC Yield for the Year
Sharing the update on X, Saylor mentioned that Strategy’s Bitcoin yield has reached 13.7% year-to-date.
He stated, “As of April 27, we are holding 553,555 BTC, acquired for about $37.90 billion at an average price of $68,459 per Bitcoin.”
In 2024, Strategy’s BTC yield — which measures the percentage change between BTC holdings and diluted shares — has climbed to 74%.
The firm aims to reach a BTC yield of 15% in 2025.
Bitcoin Price Rally Continues
Strategy’s latest investment comes during a strong bullish phase for Bitcoin, which jumped 8% between April 21 and April 27, rising from roughly $87,000 to nearly $94,000, according to CoinGecko data.
At the time of writing, Bitcoin was trading at $95,442 — slightly higher than its price at the start of the year, but still trailing its all-time high of over $109,000 set on January 21.
Throughout the price rally, Saylor kept up the momentum on social media, encouraging the community with bullish messages.
On April 25, he reminded followers, “You can still buy BTC for less than $0.1 million.”
Earlier, he urged, “Stay humble. Stack sats [satoshis],” attaching a snapshot showing Strategy’s BTC accumulation over time.
Meanwhile, Strategy is moving closer to a $100 billion market cap, with MSTR shares up about 23% year-to-date, trading at $368.7 at the time of publication, according to TradingView.
