Tragic Discovery: Missing Crypto Millionaire Found Dismembered in Suitcase, Authorities Investigate

The tragic case of Fernando Pérez Algaba, a prominent cryptocurrency trader and Instagram influencer based in Argentina, has shaken the community after he was discovered dead and dismembered in a suitcase. Algaba had been reported missing on July 18 when he failed to return the keys to a rented apartment and stopped responding to phone calls.

His remains were tragically found less than a week later on July 23 by a group of children in the town of Ingeniero Budge, located in a province near the Argentinian capital. Inside the suitcase were amputated limbs, and authorities discovered a torso on July 24 after draining the stream where the suitcase was located. A day later, on July 25, a head was found in a backpack near the scene.

Forensic analysis, including fingerprints and tattoos, confirmed the identity of the deceased as the missing crypto millionaire, and an autopsy revealed that he had suffered three gunshot wounds before being dismembered.

Investigators are treating the case as a possible murder orchestrated by a professional group. The motive behind Algaba’s tragic death is suspected to be related to debt, and one suspect has already been arrested in connection with the case.

Algaba was an active crypto trader in Buenos Aires, where he operated an office employing 25 other traders. He had also gained significant popularity on Instagram, boasting over 917,000 followers. His Instagram content mainly featured luxury cars and his beloved dog.

Reports indicate that Algaba had accumulated substantial debts, including 900,000 Argentine pesos ($3,300) in bounced checks, 1.2 million Argentine pesos ($4,400) owed to banks, and another debt of $70,000 related to a bounced check.

The tragic incident has brought back memories of a series of mysterious and sudden deaths of crypto billionaires that occurred between October and December 2022. Notably, MakerDAO co-founder Nikolai Mushegian, crypto broker Javier Biosca, Amber Group co-founder Tiantian Kullander, Russian crypto billionaire Vyacheslav Taran, and major Bithumb shareholder Park Mo all experienced untimely deaths, sparking wild theories within the crypto community.
